The Media Player application manages and plays various types of video files, with supported video formats including, MPEG-1,MPEG-2 and MPEG-4. The video documents list provides the functionality to sort, categorize and up/down reorder documents. Individual video properties such as: document name, and category associations can be displayed together with media codec information such as codec type and bit-rate.
The Qtopia Media Player application is used to playback music and videos. The Media Player is based on the common application framework provided by the Multimedia Architecture.
The Qtopia media player is based on Helix DNA.
When Helix is enabled at configure, the Qtopia media player acts as a media
server and all sounds are played through it.
If Helix is not enabled at configure the Qtopia media player will not be present
and sounds are played using the Qtopia Core sound server (QSS).

When a video file is played the following information is displayed:

Current position in the track

User Interface
The user interface takes full advantage of features available in Qt to enhance user experience. The user interface features transparency and transition effects.
Playback of music and video now share a common simplified interface.
